Jeshi La Kujenga Taifa (JKT), is known as National Service of Tanzania that plays significant role in youth empowerment in Tanzania working on national defence that was established in the 1963. JKT does various numerous activities such as military training, ensuring security of the country hence community development through installation of discipline, patriotism and practical skills to youth in the country.
The training makes the youth with life skills, physical fitness and sense of responsibility for the aim of strengthening strong sense of Nationalism. The organ also puts emphasis on Teamwork, leadership and preparation of youth to the aspects of life without forgetting military training
Training of youth has led to the development of agriculture, infrastructure including education programs. Therefore by getting involved in these activities, youth contribute to the national development including health initiatives and education programs
Currently it has increased its size throughout introducing training centres that are focusing on various skills in agriculture including mechanics, plus technology.
In Summary Therefore Jeshi la Kujenga Taifa is cornerstone to Tanzania Society through combining military training and community development so that to shape youth to responsible citizens
